This, that, summing it up
The big arts and crafts fair : was okay-ish, I sold a few things and got a small order, so I made just a little above the booth fee. I did the rounds and the general feelign was that it wasn't a very good year. Seems like a number of people either just scraped by or were completely in the red. I handed out lots of cards, and even had to print new ones in an emergency.
Hiking gear is coming nearing its end. I should be done with the second pants by the end of the week, and then I have some alterations on a coat and the other pants.
Runway show progress : we had a meeting with most of the hair + make-up staff. Models and roles have been mostly assigned, I need to check with the ones that couldn't attend if everything's fine with them.
I have a secodn mock-up for Lady Tremaine's corset all boned and ready for try-on. The crinoline I bought won't fit nor give the right look, so I've resorted to making a horsehair petticoat. More work, but probably better in the end.
Ursula's corset is patterned, too. I started ityesterday and the brain refused to let me slepp until it was done.
It seems like organizing photoshoots is going to be a good part of my work for the months to come. I have gotten all pictures from the Olympe dress shoot with M. I had another shoot on Thursday with Z, a photographer I worked with on my first shoot, and Lady darkstone as the model. the first pictures are breathtaking. I keep going back and forth between the two sets and... wow !
I'm also excited, in a five-year-old sort of way, because I was there to help create the pictures, holding the reflector, throwing dead leaves at the photographer, moving hair... A sort of childish, happy pride that I took part in the making of this, just because I was there - and completely forgetting that I made and provided the clothes, because my mind tends to forget that that is something, too, and not just part of 'normal'.I obviously need to work on that.
anyway, picture ! More to come on a blogpost when I get to writing it.
